S-PAC

FAQ

Q: What is an S-PAC?

A: An S-PAC (Student Professional Awareness Conference) is a conference geared towards students in any field.

Q: Who can go to an S-PAC?

 A: Anyone.

Q: What does it cost?

A: The S-PAC at CMU will cost you absolutely nothing.

Q: What do I wear?

A: Anything that is considered business casual. By business casual, we're talking khakis, button down shirts, any dress shirt, dress shoes, skirts (for the ladies if they want), etc. If you don't have khakis, that's ok. The nicest pair of jeans you  have that doesn't have any holes in them will be ok. Try to not wear the following:

- pants/shirts with holes in them

- club wear (there will be no fist pumping going on here)

- sneakers/flip flops/slippers

Basically, if you wouldn't wear it to a serious job interview, you shouldn't wear it here.

Q: What do you do at an S-PAC?

A: At the S-PAC at CMU there will be two guest speakers who will talk about specific topics, which can range from Career Growth and Project Management to Resume Tips and the Importance of a Professional Society to You. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided. This conference generally lasts about half a day.

Q: How will this benefit me?

A: The speakers who present at these S-PACs are very knowledgable in the engineering field. They will provide you with information that will allow you to get a better understanding of how things work in the real world.
