IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is a professional engineering association that was formed in 1963 when two engineering groups merged together. The purpose of IEEE is the advancement of innovating technology that is related to electricity. There are currently more than 395,000 members in more than 160 countries.
The IEEE Student Chapter at Central Michigan University (CMU) has been around for more than five years. Some things we have done in the past have been building a cardboard boat for the annual race at CMU's Homecoming, planned and held the annual IEEE S-PAC (Student Professional Awareness Conference), and have peformed many fun and exciting labs. The Student Chapter of IEEE at CMU is open to all students who have an interest in electronics.
